After graduating with a degree in Biology at the University of Essex, Michael spent 4 years working in a Water Microbiology laboratory before joining Northumbrian Water in 2003. Michael’s first role was in the Water Regulations Department where he gained a wide experience of working with different water systems.

Michael became an active member of the Water Regulations Technical Support Group and represented WRAS on several occasions from the HSG274 document to Water Research Council (WRc) project work and is a panellist for the British Standards Institute (BSI). Michael is now the Water Systems Manager with over 15 years of experience of providing legionella control and water systems services for commercial buildings, local authorities, housing associations, care homes and heavy industry.
